Getting to know the company
Azarshid Pars Refractory Products Company
Nowadays, the name of Yazd has become synonymous with the production of products derived from non-metallic mineral materials. The manufacturing of various ceramic products—including tiles, sanitary porcelain, industrial ceramics, and refractory materials—in Yazd, which dates back to the mid-1980s (Iranian calendar), has paved the way for training numerous engineers, experts, and specialists. According to industry professionals, these individuals have been beneficial and influential not only for the industry in Yazd Province but also for the ceramic and refractory industries across the country.
The team of shareholders and managers of Faravardehaye Nasooz Azarshid Pars Company, drawing upon their valuable background and experience in the national refractory industry and motivated by the growth of industries that consume refractory materials—such as steel, cement, copper, oil, and petrochemicals—officially launched their operations on August 30, 2014, with the aim of supplying part of these industries’ needs. The company began producing various types of refractory products with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons in two phases, covering an area of approximately 10,000 square meters.
Currently, this complex includes two production units: one for manufacturing monolithic refractories (castables) and another for producing precast refractory parts and refractory/steel composites. These units are located in the Mehriz Industrial Zone, adjacent to the strategic Yazd–Bandar Abbas highway.
The operating license for Unit No. 1, for the production of various types of refractory castables and mortars with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons, was issued on November 29, 2015 under license number 3796. The operating license for Unit No. 2, for the production of another group of special unshaped refractories used in various industries, with an annual capacity of 12,000 tons, was issued under license number 4965381 on April 12, 2025, by the Yazd Province Department of Industry, Mine, and Trade.

A question that every refractory specialist must be able to answer is: What do refractory linings do?
Their fundamental roles include withstanding extremely high temperatures, retaining heat within the vessel, and possessing adequate physical properties such as strength, as well as resistance to chemical degradation caused by aggressive atmospheres and corrosion from liquid and solid slags.
Selecting the right materials for refractory production requires balancing multiple factors to establish a hierarchy of priorities. In many cases, there is no single solution to the problem. However, a proper understanding of the process, challenges, history, and root causes of refractory degradation is key to making better decisions in solving such issues.
